#21 485 All Mahogany

This lovely 485 model has Mahogany front, back and sides. This give the guitar a really unique look, more akin to old blues guitars from the early 1900s. The scope for this build was to use as few varieties of woods as possible, to give the instrument a clean and uniform look, so everything (apart from the bracing!) is made from either Mahogany, or Indian Rosewood.

The mahogany on the soundboard plays a huge part towards to tone of the instrument, giving it much more of a mid-weighted sound, while still keeping the clarity and volume. This sort of guitar would take really well to flat picked blues playing, and holds well for powerful strummed chords.

An oil and wax finish is used to keep the instrument light and responsive, as well as giving it a soft satin look and feel across the whole instrument. It is fitted with chrome Gotoh 510 1:21 machine heads for super smooth tuning, and is fretted with cryo-treated fret wire which is much harder wearing than traditional nickel-silver fret wire.

Comes with a JKM branded Hiscox Pro II Hard Case.
